Funding for arts festivals and projects
Festivals Australia provides funding to arts organisations and individuals for high-quality arts or cultural heritage projects in regional and remote Australia that enable community participation and audience engagement at festivals or significant one-off community celebrations.
Eligible activities include parades, performances, workshops, installations and exhibitions.
Funding may be provided through annual or multi-year funding agreements and will depend on funds available.
Regional artists, arts workers, and organisations can apply for arts and cultural projects that encourage community participation and audience engagement from people living in regional and remote communities in a festival or significant one-off community celebration.
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian incorporated organisation
- have an active Australian business number (ABN)
- be registered for goods and services tax (GST) if required
- not have any outstanding reports, acquittals or serious breaches relating to any Commonwealth funding
Festivals Australia will only fund a single project (not a range of unrelated activities) delivered at a festival or significant one-off community celebration in an eligible regional or remote location.
To check if your project is taking place in an eligible regional or remote location, visit the Festivals Australia Eligibility Map and enter the full address of where your project will be delivered (including street number and name, postcode, suburb/town) to see the Remoteness Area Classification Code and eligibility status.
