Funding to innovate medical research
This grant provides funding to support medical research and medical innovation programs of research that pursue ambitious ‘moonshot’ goals, developing new products or interventions and implementing them into clinical practice.
Funding supports a program of linked projects aiming to create treatments for currently serious and incurable health conditions, including developing novel health technologies or repurposing existing technologies.
You can apply if you:
- have an Australian business number (ABN) and are incorporated in Australia, and in accordance with s24 of the MRFF Act 2015 be one of the following entities: a medical research institute
- a university
- a corporate Commonwealth entity
- a corporation (including business and not for profits)
We can only accept applications where you can provide:
- evidence from your board (or chief executive officer or equivalent if there is no board) that the project is supported and that you can complete the project and meet the costs of the project not covered by grant funding
- letters of support from each project partner, where applicable
- audited financial statements or annual reports
You must not duplicate any research that has been or is currently being undertaken.
You must list all members of your research team (Chief Investigators), to a maximum of 15.
A Chief Investigator cannot be named on more than one active expression of interest/full application.
